Alphabetic catalogue manuscript

The National Historical Library of Agriculture from 1848, the year in which the Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce began, had the difficult job in harmonizing the diverse administrative systems of the States annexed to the House of Savoia. Particular consideration was given to the collection of works and publications which came from the scientific technical and legal areas linked with the agricultural world. In this way, the basis for the constitution of the Library, were created and from which then followed the various events of the Ministry. In 1871 a new site was found in Rome, inside the "Palazzo della Stamperia".
Thanks to academics and cultured people among Ministries and administrators, it was opened up to outside researchers and notably enriched its bibliographic collection. In 1913 the present site came to be finally established in the "Palazzo dell'Agricoltura" in via XX Settembre.
The Library's collection is specialized but not exclusive because it offers a social, judicial and also literary vision of the agricultural world.
